Our Team Jeffrey Loewy Mr. Loewy had formerly been a Partner at Oppenheimer & Co. and an Assistant Vice President and a Portfolio Manager in the Trust Division of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. He earned his B.B.A. degree at Ohio University and his M.B.A at Columbia University. Mr. Loewy is the Chairman of the Board of the American Federation of Arts (AFA) and has served as President and a member of the Board of the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood. He is the past President of the New York Association for New Americans (NYANA), and has served on its Board for over 25 years. NYANA is one of the largest refugee resettlement organizations in the U.S. He has been on the Board of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) for 20 years; Chairman of the Endowment Committee of the AFA; served as Vice President and is a current Board Member of the New York Chapter of the American Jewish Committee (AJC). He was recently elected to the Board of Temple Emanu-el in New York City. Karen Glassman Formerly Deputy Managing Director of W.P. Stewart Asset Management Ltd., Ms. Glassman joined W.P. Stewart in 2003 as a senior member of the W.P. Stewart marketing and client service team. She brings 20 years of experience in the asset management industry, focusing on the high net worth area of the business. Prior to joining W.P.Stewart, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Papamarkou & Company, Inc., an asset management firm where she was responsible for managing all client relationships, marketing and new business ventures. From 1986 to 1992 she was employed by Bear Stearns & Co., Inc. and was the first female arbitrage trader employed by the firm. Ms. Glassman began her career at Bear Stearns in the International Department covering all overseas offices for research and trading. Ms. Glassman graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College in both music and finance. She is a member of the Rockefeller University Council and the New York City Mentoring Program. Howard Friedner Mr. Friedner joined Tirschwell & Loewy in 2002 and has over 20 years of investment and advisory experience including ten years as a corporate lawyer at major New York law firms and J.P. Morgan where he engaged in a wide variety of corporate finance, securities, merger & acquisition, and private equity transactions. Mr. Friedner has been involved in all aspects of the investment management business, including security analysis, portfolio management, and advising clients, with a focus on high net worth individuals, families, endowments, foundations and similar institutions. Mr. Friedner earned his B.A. at Columbia University in 1981, an M.A. at the Columbia School of International and Public Affairs in 1982 and his J.D. at Columbia Law School in 1985. Mr. Friedner participates in a variety of community activities and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. William Butler, CFA Mr. Butler previously spent eight years as a portfolio manager for the asset management divisions of Credit Suisse and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he was responsible for managing over $1.5 billion in core equity portfolios for institutional and private clients. Mr. Butler earned his B.A. in economics at the University of Notre Dame in 1986 and his M.B.A. in finance at the University of Chicago in 1989. He has held the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation since 1998. Mr. Butler is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
